Chon, a member of the Mexican Wirrárika people, tells the story of his cousin Faustino, a shaman's son, who proclaimed himself to be God and spiritual leader of the indigenous settlement of La Mora. When Chon witnessed Faustino killing members of their own community, he escaped and saved the lives of the other villagers.

Born in Innsbruck, he studied at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and at the HFBK University of Fine Arts Hamburg. His films have been screened in Germany and abroad and received various awards. He wrote the books DAS INNEN IM AUßEN and FACES OF ATHENS. He lives and works in Berlin, Mexico, and Austria.
